Public Health Engineering Department has laboratories to test drinking water sources. These laboratories are as under:
- State Research Laboratory, PHED, Shymla Hills, Bhopal.(Tel:0755266154
- District laboratories at 51 district head quarters.
In addition to these laboratories, 104 civil sub division headquarters also have laboratories.
In these laboratories quality of rural drinking water supply sources is tested.
- Rural drinking water sources: Water samples from rural drinking water sources are tested in these laboratories.
- Urban drinking water sources If any person/agency /department requires to get drinking water samples tested from urban area, they may contact local municipal body(Nagar Nigam/Nagar Palika/Nagar Panchayat).Alternatively, although PHED labs have primary aim to test rural drinking water sources, our laboratories also test such samples as a public facility on chargeable basis. However, to test such samples even on chargeable basis is not a binding and is totally a matter of discretion and the decision of concerned Executive Engineer of PHE Department will be final in such cases.
